Five years in India.. and counting
The main point of this website is to provide our friends and family with a running commentary on our life in India - it's almost as good as having us back home. In which case I suppose we wouldn't have anything to talk about. But you know what I mean. Anyway, you'll find all that in WildyLog.
Other sections of the site tell you about where we are living (Mussoorie, in the Indian Himalaya) and where we are working (Woodstock School). There are collections of photos and a few videos which supplement the weblog. Then there there is a page of links to back home (in our case that's Liverpool, UK). Finally, there's a page devoted to one of Pete's hobbies, music, with downloadable songs and information about the CD which he and a few friends made and some recent home recordings. That's about it, really.
Oh, except that "Scousers" are people from Liverpool. It's pronounced with an "s" as in Sexy, Sophisticated, Sarcastic and Synical. Click here for more at Scouser.com. The Scouse dialect has even attracted academic study - apparently it's taking over the world, region by region. And the masthead photograph is sunrise from the summit of Pepperpot, Easter morning 2005. See WildyWeb36 for the story.
My Dad's Memoirs
We travelled back to England in November 2005 for my Dad's funeral. You can download his memoirs. He was born in 1924, so his recollections give many fascinating glimpses of life in Liverpool during the 20th century, including the part he played in a celebrated murder trial, the Wallace Case. Acrobat pdf reader required; click here if you need one.
